Why we love organising seminars in Provence

Why do we love organising seminars in Provence? We tell you more in this article

Organising seminars in Provence: our passion for 10 years

When Mike and I returned to France to restore and run the family estate Château la Beaumetane, we were delighted. We love organising and hosting events in our beautiful home. There are several reasons for this

Firstly, we’re firmly convinced that this magnificent residence deserves to open its doors and welcome people. Mike thinks I’m being a bit ‘crazy’ when I say this, but personally, I’d go so far as to say that La Beaumetane shines when it welcomes people on a regular basis. I can tell you that I found the atmosphere very cold and sad during the COVID and that we were forced to be closed…. But when there are people around, the air is light, the light is beautiful, and everything is conducive to smiling and feeling good!

Secondly, we love organising seminars in Provence because we are team players at heart. Indeed, organising seminars in Provence and making them a success is a real team effort. At the very least, it involves our in-house teams, but also of course the client, the participants, the speakers, the caterer and sometimes other service providers who are also present. So that’s a lot of people to manage, a lot of requests to understand and fulfil. But we love this job!

Thirdly, since last year we’ve finally had the tool we need to offer seminars in Provence on a global basis. We finally have our own rooms on site to accommodate seminar participants. And that makes all the difference, because now you can ask us to take care of your seminars in Provence from A to Z!

A Provence reception venue with character: Château la Beaumetane

A Provence reception venue with character… that’s one of the characteristics most frequently cited by visitors to Château la Beaumetane. I’ll give you a few examples of this cachet in this article.

A Provence reception venue with character – one of the advantages of having a venue with a history

I don’t know about you, but I’m always impressed by the builders of yesteryear. For me, there was a real quest for beauty in every sense of the word. By that, I mean that beauty was understood in the purely aesthetic sense, but also in the quality of the materials and the workmanship. It’s not unusual for buildings that were built decades or even over a century ago to stand the test of time better than more recent constructions.

Château la Beaumetane was not always a reception venue with cachet. Originally, this magnificent residence was simply a superb family home. You can find out more about the origins of the château in this article.

It’s clear that its patron, Edmond Théry, loved the house very much. What’s more, he was a man who, from what I’ve read about him, was clearly meticulous and loved a job well done. So I have no doubt that when he chose the craftsmen to work on the construction of what was to become a stylish reception venue many years later!

Why we love weddings in Provence

Why do we love weddings in Provence? Why did we choose to open the doors of the château and help you organise the most important day of your lives? We’ll explain it all here.

Family and love – values that have a strong influence on our lives

Family and love are key concepts in our lives. Of course, they drive our personal lives. However, they are so important to us that we have also decided to include them in our professional lives.

It’s true that the distinction between our personal and professional lives is much blurrier than it is for many people.

In fact, we have chosen to open the doors of our house to host weddings in Provence and other events. What’s more, we have this magnificent house thanks to Nathalie’s grandparents and aunt. Finally, we include our children in our plans and they themselves live and breathe the events that take place at the château.

Family means love…. And there’s plenty of that in ours…. Just like the love of our magnificent home and our professional life…. So it’s fair to say that there are plenty of hearts in our lives 😊

Château in Provence: La Beaumetane and its history

Château in Provence, La Beaumetane is a place steeped in history.

We are regularly reminded of this. Here is one of its anecdotes.

La Beaumetane: a château in Provence built by Edmond Théry

As we explained in this article, La Beaumetane is a château in Provence built by Edmond Théry at the end of the 19th century. This extraordinary man of course lived there. But some of his descendants also lived there.

In love with my beautiful Château in Provence and eager to discover its history, you can imagine that I often look for information about our magnificent property.  Unfortunately, despite all my research, I was always left wanting more. I did find some information, thanks to the account books and papers that had remained at the château. Moreover, there was this book dedicated by Marcel Pagnol himself to one of the Théry sons to thank him for having hosted him for many months. Finally, there were some archives, in particular those that talked about the German occupation of this beautiful estate in Provence during the Second World War.

Finally, I had all the stories from all those people who regularly stop by the château to tell me about having lived there or that their grandparents lived and worked there, and who tell me what life was like there many decades ago. I’m always moved and humbled by these stories. Indeed, I know that as the owner of this little Château in Provence, I also have a duty, which of course I accept wholeheartedly, to preserve all these moments and continue to make La Beaumetane shine.

How can I find wedding venues in Provence from a distance?

How can I find wedding venues in Provence from a distance? This is a real question for people who live far from Provence

Finding wedding venues in Provence

If you live far from Provence, or even in Provence in fact, it’s true that these days the first searches for wedding venues in Provence are simple. The Internet has made this step much easier!

You can simply search on Google or on the various platforms that may exist to find hundreds of wedding venues. However, before going any further, it’s important to establish certain filters so as not to waste too much time.

Indeed, one of the first criteria to check after geolocation if you know more or less where you want to get married, is to check the size of weddings that wedding venues in Provence accept. Finding a venue that matches the size of your wedding is essential. This is not only to save you time in your search but also to ensure that the venue is exactly what you need.

What’s the best month to get married in Provence?

What’s the best month to get married in Provence? Have you asked yourself this question?  We tell you what we think in our article

When to have a destination wedding in Provence

Generally, when we decide to have a destination wedding in Provence, it’s because we want to take advantage of the beautiful sunshine and wonderful weather we can have in Provence. So I’m going to talk mainly about the high season for weddings in Provence – from April to October. But I’ll also tell you about the other months of the year at the end of this article.

Overall, the wedding season in Provence can be divided into 4 periods.

The first is April and May. The advantages of these months are considerable. First of all, if you love Spring, you’re in for a treat! Nature is splendid at this time of year in Provence. Indeed, nature is awakening, the green of the leaves is fresh and light. And the flowers are coming out. Our white roses, for example, are in bloom. It’s a great time to be alive and enjoying the first warmth.

Summer months to get married in Provence

June is generally the French people’s favorite time to get married. I’ll mention some of the reasons why in this article if you’re interested. Also, if you want to enjoy the same advantages as the French, I’d advise you either to get a date early and/or to get married during the week. The French tend to get married on weekends. For your destination wedding, your guests may have days to spare, so this may be an option for you.

The months of July and August are perfect if you decide to spend part of your vacation here too. The water is warm, so you can swim in the Mediterranean without worry, and also in the pond, which is just a 5-minute drive from the château. You’re practically guaranteed perfect weather, with plenty of sunshine! On the other hand, it can get hot! We can help you manage all this. We’re used to it. What’s more, the fact that our interiors are air-conditioned is a real plus for people coming from colder climates.
